AND AHHH FINAL DAY HERE WE AREEE!! So many thoughts, and not one of them coherent *le sigh*

! SPOILER ALERT ! The following post contains spoilers for the chapters 35 to 40. So unless you’ve read them, DON’T PROCEED ! SPOILER ALERT !

Okay but I'm both happy and a bit "Uhuh?"

Really liked the explanation about the doll finally. I liked how it created the spells according to their needs. So like Dochkin says, they're basically wishes which makes them like SUPER powerful. And wow how the spell that zoomed West gave Dochkin Nastya's wishes so he could make her spells. Quite an ingenious magical touch.

When I thought this was the end of the road for Dochkin, I really felt bad. I liked the nice old man with his knowledgeable ways even though we hadn't known him for long. I was happy he had the spell for Alexei though! And the blank spell! I was intrigued to see how that would work.

Then Nastya woke up and wow so much happened. I was so sure Dochkin was gone and even that Alexei was lost. I liked that Nastya saved some of the special spell for Dochkin. I liked how efficiently she got some healing spells onto everyone.

I'm glad Nastya didn't take the blank spell. Like she said, "Because I have a story I was meant to live. And not even you can unwrite it." It would have all felt so pointless if she forgot everything and left this life behind!

Can i just say I LOVE the precious boy Alexei so much. His sass about Nastya and Zash about to kiss when he was healing and telling someone to please gag Yurovsky was just ahhh. Also I liked how calmly he responded to the way Yurovsky put him down. I WANT TO GIVE THIS BABY A BIG HUG!

Also I liked that Nastya forgave Zash. I mean if i were her, things would definitely be awkward for a while but I'm glad she forgave Zash

BUT OKAY USING THE BLANK SPELL ON YUROVSKY??? DECIDING TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP IN FORGIVING THAT SCUMBAG? YEAH THAT WAS ALL MORALLY NICE AND MIGHTY OF NASTYA BUT I WANTED VENGEANCE?? CALL ME PETTY BUT I WANTED YUROVSKY TO SUFFER! I WANTED THEm TO SHOOT HIM AHHH. When both Nastya and Zash couldn't bring themselves to pull the trigger, I was like "HERE LET ME DO IT!"Sorry guys I'm not like super nice or anything, when people are as horrible as Yurovsky, THEY DON'T DESERVE A BLANK SPELL AND A START OVER!

But other than that, I liked the ending. How Alexei and Dochkin are off to help the White Army and how Nastya is learning to be a spell master and Zash is staying on. I wish his Babushka could've been there though *sniffle

All thing considered, that was a kind of happy ending I think? ESPECIALLY THAT JOY IS FINE OH HEAVENS.

Also guys, don't forget to read the Author's Note at the end! I absolutely loved it <3

What are you going to rate the book? What did you think of the ending? What are your thoughts about how it ended for Yurovsky?

Woooooh. I loved the ending. Zash and Nastya ending up together definitely made me happy.

But, I didn’t particularly like the Yurovsky part. Was he the only one who was after the ROMANOVS? NO. So, I think the spell was a waste. I get the forgiving thing but Yurovsky didn’t get what he deserved. He went into the war knowing what is in store for him. And after killing, the whole Romanov family (key word WHOLE) he gets to start again? Uh I didn’t like this one bit.

But overall, I liked the book and would rate it a 4.

Thank you @booksnbeyondbox for the readathon ♥️

What a ride it has been.

Yurovsky clearly got much more kindness than he deserved. But that sort of act may seem like foolishness- but from as much as I have learnt about Tasr Nicholas II (her father) in the book I really think he would have appreciated. Plus, to be honest I did see it coming. I knew however horrible the incidences were, she couldn’t just wipe off everything she had left of her family, which were memories. To completely forget their legacy. I knew she wouldn’t use it on herself- and then I did guess she would use it on Yurovsky and she did. I cannot say I approve though- he should’ve lived with his crimes. Although I do not think a man like him would have felt any sort of regret. Perhaps he would have pitied himself. The angle with Dochkin and Alexei did seem pretty perfect. And Nastya getting to learn spells. Living with Zash. Almost picture perfect ending- except the huge blot that is the loss of her family. I really did love her character though. And her brother of course. Maybe this imperfect ending is perfect on its own. Much much much unlike the real horrifying story of the Romanovs.

Could we just rewind back to when we first started, because I am so sad that this story is over! For the last week, this is all what my days were about and while I’m glad to have found out how things end, I can’t help but want more of Alexei’s little sassy comments and playfulness, and of course, MORE NASTYA AND ZASH! I’m not a romance novel person but jeez, I really wish there was a way to find out what more could’ve happened. It was amazing how Nastya actually managed to save Alexei, Dochkin and Zash! I was so sure that they would be goners and Nastya would be on her own! Our little Tsarevich held on and so did the spell master! Giving Yurovsky the blank spell and dressing up as a peasant was an ending I never saw coming. Part of me was so sure that Zash would be able to shoot him or Nastya being her true untamed self would actually kill him herself. It was very noble, but even I could’ve gone for more of a bloodied end for Yurovsky too. Lately forgiveness is making a come back and it might actually be for the best. We gotta make the Tsar proud! His ability to be calm and generous to his captors is a true motivation for times when your patience is really being tested. I really wish there was more to the ending, it felt a little incomplete and dare I say, even rushed. So much more could’ve been given to end things on a better note. I appreciate the good ending like anyone else here, but even something like a 10 years from now would’ve been an interesting touch to the ending.
I would rate Romanov a 4/5 because it really got me almost emotionally invested in the story and there aren’t a lot of books that do that for me. The ending could’ve used a little more work and I really wish we could’ve seen more of the Tsarina and her children interacting, there could’ve been something more to explore over there. After having read the book entirely and now tallying it up with the facts, which I appreciate that Nadine Brandes mentioned in the book, it was all really well done. Thank you, BnB team, for this wonderful opportunity to purchase this book. It was a great investment! It won’t be long before I go ahead and read this book once more. The last day is here, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the final discussion post tomorrow. Goodnight, fellow readers!

I personally loved the ending. I think it was sweet and happy and despite all of the blood, it was settled. They were happy and learning.

One think I absolutely loved about the book was how the romance wasn’t the main focus of the story. Instead, it focussed on familial values and relationships. That was why I rated this book 5 🌟 I think 😁

The book is over… it’s so soon…. it feels like I started reading it yesterday!! It was such an amazing book to read. Dochkin is such a nice guy… and he is an AMAZING spell master… spell inks creating spells according to the Romanov’s needs… WOW!
THANK GOD Alexei survived… Nastya saved Dochkin too… I dint want him to die so soon…she is awesome!
Nastya not using the Pustoy spell on herself is BOLD… She used it on Yurovsky!!!!! I cannot believe she did this! After everything he did to her family.. but she is so brave to do it.. she is becoming a bigger person which is so cool. Nastya forgave Zash too… that was so nice to read… Now she has someone to spend her time in that AWESOME secret hiding place filled with spell books !!! I wanna live there!!
I loved the ending!! It was so nice! It was an ending she deserved!!! She is moving on with her life after the tragedy… Alexei got to play his role too!!! He got to be the person he deserves to be!!!!🔥
