Okay Day 2 of the readalong and can we all agree that this book has one of the most intriguing premise ever?? Like it hooks us right in! Grab your choice of beverage and let's get started!

Okay Nathaniel Thorne is officially the cutest. I'm sorry but OMG I love this dude. I call dibs on him *heart eyes* I mean let's look at some choice quotes shall we?
I'm sorry but this so reminds me of Nikolai and I just am so here for the sassy dudes.
Sorry but again, THIS SO REMINDS ME OF NIKOLAI AS WELL AS THORNE FROM LUNAR CHRONICLES? They even have similar names?
Anyway, point is I LOVES NATHANIEL THORN. You guys keep away from him *flashes swords and daggers*
Soooo Silas. Damn that's one super interesting character. So he IS a demon but kind of a morally grey character? I love these kinds of characters who make me thoughful and have me questioning my own thoughts?
OKAY THE BANTER IS A+. I don't even need a plot. Give me 300 pages of Nathaniel and Elisabeth arguing. Throw in some eye rolls and sassy comments from Silas. I'll reread that book again and again.
Can we also appreciate Katrien? She's the best friend we all want. She STOLE a grimoire and SMUGGLED it into Elisabeth's luggage. Please can I get a Katrien? Best friend goals!
ACTION SCENES! Not all authors can do action scenes well. It's so difficult to make the action leap out of the book and Margaret Rogerson TOTALLY NAILS IT! when the fiends were attcking our favourite duo, it was so adrenaline pumping! Vivid imagery like I was watching a movie! Absolutely loved it and also the descriptions of Nathaniel's magic working is so wonderful.
OKAY BUT NO THORN CANNOT SHOULD NOT LEAVE!! Like OMG even when he was leaving, it was so sassy and classy (Hey I rhymed!) and I was like DUDE JUST COME BACK? I want more Nathaniel, silas and all the delicious banter.
